Enogea – 2011 Barbaresco and 2011 Barbaresco Roncaglie

From the Enogea magazine, II serie, n° 55 giugno/luglio 2014.

After a summary about the characteristics of 2011 vintage, Masnaghetti details his tasting notes. Here some extracts concerning Socré. Roncaglie is to be found at position 5, tie with a few other producers.

«Barbaresco Roncaglie 2011. Ohhhh, here the Barbaresco that I was waiting for: less educated, less punctilious, less diligent and therefore with more spirit and appeal. Well managed terroir, tasty roughness and dense final. Score: 89 E»
Enogea / Alessandro Masnaghetti Ed.
«Barbaresco 2011. Less characterized than the Roncaglie but, more “Socré style”. Also in this case, more character than in past vintages. Fruty, clear taste. It needs some aging in bottle to begin its evolution. Score: 88+ E»
