Socré’s wines

Socré initially sold its grapes to private citizens and wine cellars, and only produced a small percentage of wine.

Since 1999 the business has gradually increased the amount of grapes used for wine production and invested in equipment and machinery.
The cellar’s most important wine is, for obvious reasons, Barbaresco. Wines such as Croatina and Cisterna d’Asti were also a matter of interest and attention, with in mind the fact that such typical characteristics could offer the clientele a fresh alternative to the land’s more renowned wines.

Other available wines are Barbera d’Alba, Barbera d’Asti, Langhe Nebbiolo and the raisin wine Camplongh, and the dry white wine Via Nuova.

RoncaglieBarbaresco DOCG 2003A burgundy red wine, full of class, body and structure, with a rich
bouquet of violets and cherry jam. Produced solely with nebbiolo
grapes, it is then refined in small French oak barrels for 24 months
(a third being new barrels and two thirds used barrels).
This wine holds great potential for ageing.

without loosing body and structure. It is refined in stainless steel vats.

be served throughout the entire varied menu.Die Produktionsverordnung The grapes come from the vineyard in Neviglie.
La Varija V Red Table WineIt is produced with cabernet sauvignon-merlot grapes (70%) and barbera grapes (30%), which give this wine a particularly inter-
national taste. The grapes come from the vineyards in Cisterna
d’Asti. The wine is then refined in small French oak barrels for 14
months (half being new and the other half used). It is a full-bodied wine with a deep dark red color, and a smooth, discreet bouquet holding traces of green pepper and berries.
Also this wine holds great potential for ageing.
Langhe Nebbiolo 2005This wine is produced mainly with Nebbiolo grapes and a drop of  cabernet sauvignon, grown in the vineyards in Barbaresco.
Its color is a light burgundy red, and it’s bouquet is intense. It is
a smooth, velvety wine, adapt throughout the menu, and exceptional when accompanying poultry.
CamplonghPiemonte Moscato Passito 2003
(Raisin wine)
This sweet wine is achieved with 100% moscato grapes which are left to wither on the vines until late autumn. It takes a lot of
patience and hard workmanship to produce this wine. When the
grapes have reached the right level of maturity, and are therefore
sweeter and more concentrated, each grape is separated strictly by hand.
After the fermentation has been accomplished, it is refined in small oak barrels.
Its color is straw yellow with golden highlights; its bouquet is suave and retains all the characteristics of the moscato grape. Its flavor is sweet, intense and generous.
Best accompanied to deserts or strong tasting cheeses.
